This project has been percolating over the past year. Through sketches, animation and video experiments, I’ve been forming a traumatic fantasy of transformation, the dark powers of education, and the desire for control. The History Lesson is currently intended as a serialised queer tale of unlearning and dismemberment. I’ve been looking at aspects of my own past and identity, forming a mythology that tries to visualise some of the dreams of being a Margaret.
