These days, it’s really hard to tell who’s winning and who’s losing, who’s in the club and who’s in the car park, who’s got the king’s ear and who’s got the king’s rear. The walls of the castle protect and imprison, exclude and free, in equal measures. Innards are outed and egos come alive in a freudian nightmare that includes a tune about a certain Ludwig II of Bavaria, his composer friend and what they got up to in their “palace of sin”.
