(A tale of two donuts)

This photo story, used as promotion for the show of the same name, sees Robyn & Margaret regular ‘The Angry Chicken’ feeling the mood altering effects of greed. Shot in the old Bell Foundry in Whitechapel (the long abandoned birthplace of Big Ben), I wanted to create a Grimmesque parable for consumption and false choice. This theme of the very visceral act of consuming, digesting and excreting the world is dear to my colon, as both a sufferer of IBS and economic consumerism. As we crave and cram into our bodies the good and the bad in a confusing madness of liberal chemical abuse we are given a false sense of a body in control. In reality we are the guinea pigs for a highly organised pharmacological cuisine industry. With every bite comes complicity. Yummy.
