Punch and Judy, what a classic piece of work; misogyny, gluttony, child abuse, violence against, and by, the state, executions, people ripped apart by alligators… It’s a kids’ show, yeah? To celebrate the show There is no one in the world more fit than myself to be laughed at! I wanted to recreate this horrifying heritage piece using our cast of characters. Building a set of characters that sustain and evolve is the ambition of many shows. With its roots in the commedia dell'arte, this dark comedy looms large in popular culture, despite being hundreds of years old and less than innocent, like sausages.
